When I (himura_KAORU) created this site with my good friend, Sailor Mercury-Kun, I knew that I wanted it to be a place where children, teenagers and adults could all feel safe and accepted while enjoying many different kinds of anime and J-drama series!
It has always been a goal of mine to keep this site safe for children. I first fell in love with anime when I was about 8 years old and I saw Sailor Moon aired on local TV. I wanted to find other great anime series to share that everyone could enjoy!
himura-KAORU.com strives to provide high quality Real Media anime and J-Drama for people with slow connections, small hard drives or slow processors. We know that not everyone in the world has cable internet, a 200 gig hard drive and a 2 GHz processor!
We also want to help you find other anime or J-Drama direct download sites. We LOVE it when people tell us about their own direct download sites or about other sites they know.

~*This site was started on February 12, 2005*~
The idea for himura-KAORU.com came from my good friend, Sailor Mercury-Kun, from Tsukikage.
He suggested we start a site where people who preferred Real Media could download the Sailor Moon .rm files we had. We knew that there were many people in the world
who had small hard drives, slow connections, slow processors, etc and preferred the small filesize and ease of use of Real Media files.
Well, after much searching and investigating hosts I decided upon Globat and have been EXTREMELY pleased with them ever since and I ended up (several months later) purchasing
another 3 domains and hosting them with Globat as well! The idea was that we would upload all the Sailor Moon .rm eps we had to the Globat accounts.
We soon added a few other anime series that we were encoding and the site quickly gained popularity. It was generating so much traffic that I was forced to install an anti-leech filter to keep from going over the daily and monthly bandwidth limit.
We never advertised this site except for some small mention in my other website Sailor Moon Center yet we kept getting more and more visitors! I soon started adding Japanese Drama series (starting with Summer Snow) and many other anime series which I hoped visitors would enjoy.
I purchased 3 other accounts when I saw that we did not have enough bandwidth for all the visitors to get the files they wanted. Soon after that, we discovered FileFront! It was a blessing and a curse! >.<
We started moving all our non-licensed anime series to FileFront (which is a free file hosting site similar to MegaUpload and RapidShare, etc.). We had many gigs worth of .rm anime hosted there and things were going very well for several months
when all of a sudden FileFront deleted our account along with ALL the files. The only explanation they offered was that they were changing their file hosting policy to only accept game-related files! We were devastated!
I didn't know what to do so I asked people on the forum to help replace episodes to another file hosting site. Thus, the search began for other file sharing sites that would be more reliable. We started using RapidShare, SendSpace and SaveFile.
Amazingly, with the help of many people from the forum, we restored ALL the links on the site within a week! I was SO touched by how many people responded to help.
Since then we have endured a SaveFile server error which wiped all the files hosted there, several site hacks and RapidShare and SendSpace accounts being erased but we learned from our mistakes and now we have most of our non-licensed files hosted on more than one file sharing site^^
It is all thanks to my amazing STAFF that this site has been so successful. All the people who encode to Real Media, moderate the forum, check for broken links, upload files and more are wonderful people who came to me and offered to help. I am so grateful for each
and every one of you!
